Back to Wilderness gratefully received a grant through the New Anglia Visitor Economy Grant Scheme, which is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund – to help with this diversification offering.

This is not a *training course* it’s effectively a video meeting, with tailored personal tutoring, delivered via teams.

The 1hr B.U.D.S (Build->Understanding->Development->Session) interactive video meetings, are an online resource being made available during social distancing restrictions, to continue education & provide support for training courses – past, present & future.

As with all online learning, there will be limitations for safety reasons as to the level of practical inclusion for certain topics such as knife work, but we will do our best to keep these as interactive as possible.

Standard off the Shelf B.U.D.S

Bespoke B.U.D.S – only by prior agreement

Who is this for? These B.U.D.S are ideal for:

  • Learners who have an interest, but would rather have a friendly informal one to one rather than attend a group session in person.
  • Teachers requiring coaching in the form of a flexible interactive online session, to fit around their schedule.
  • Anyone who has an interest in learning fundamental but essential skills in these topics.
  • Current learners who would like to further their knowledge in these topics with a mentor.

Description

Delivery: These hour long online sessions will be delivered using Microsoft Teams as an online video meeting. They may be based completely indoors or if weather and content permits, the meetings may require outdoor access during the session. This will be confirmed when the session time slot is scheduled.

Content: These hour long online sessions are available to provide either one to one (or one to a few*) with background theory, hints & tips, specific topic advice, best practices, general coaching & guidance for various topics & can potentially be tailored to your specific needs. The scope of any B.U.D.S may be restricted from time to time, by availability of resources.

Availability: Once booked, we’ll find a mutually agreable time to be as flexible as possible to suit your requirements. This could be evening sessions or weekend sessions, whatever fits your lifestyle. If we can’t find a suitable time for you, a full refund will be provided.

B.U.D.S Terms & Conditions:

  • Suitable for adults only 18yrs+ (under 18yrs old may be possible, but will require a paying adult to accompany them – please contact me to discuss suitability)
  • Pricing includes professional tuition only – any equipment will need to be provided by the learners unless otherwise arranged/agreed.
  • Pre-Requisites – In order to provide the best online experience, learners must ensure a suitable internet connection is available for a teams video meeting & a working Webcam & Microphone is installed prior to the scheduled session – Please check in advance the Microsoft speed recommendations/requirements for teams meetings here.
  • (*)Social Distancing – Each paying learner must either be from:
    • The same household bubble if joining from the same location / Webcam
    • A different physical location / Webcam
  • Meeting Postponement – A minimum of 48hrs notice is required for any postponements of the scheduled date. Failure to provide such notice will forfeit the learners right to the session being rescheduled and any subsequent refund.

    Top quality hour spent with Ray looking at Foraging. Really useful refresher for me, and with some great follow up materials. Incredibly valuable when unable to get to an outdoor session. Great value for money and highly recommended.
